Tropicana Hotel

Nice place for the family to stay. Easy access to all amenities. Close to beachfront. Unfortunately, Olaf's entertainment is not enough every day, with no variety of music; mainly for Germans only. No live music even during weekends. All-inclusive worth it, 5 stars for kitchen staff, got nice tips; reception staff do not understand English at all except one male member of staff. Perhaps it should be advertised for Germans only then I would know not to book in. Rooms wise, nice A/C but the sofa bed is not comfy; no ventilation in the bathroom was a pain and uncomfortable experience; 90s furniture with no USB sockets and not enough throughout the apartment. Lastly, there is no English TV channels at all. Overall, will not visit this place again.

This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, more like a 2/3. It’s set over 4 buildings, which makes it feel very disjointed, reception and food in one building, the bar and a pool at another building then 2 buildings that overlook them The room was clean and spacious but extremely dated. The aircon may aswel not have worked (I’d dread to be in one of those rooms in the warmer months as it’s only currently 22ish) We travelled with 2 young children so were conscious of the temperature in the bedroom at night, it averaged 25 degrees and that was with the aircon turned on constantly through the night. We found the majority of the food at the buffet inedible and was clearly catered for Germans. We went to the beach during our stay instead of being poolside as it did not seem clean, pigeons sat on the side of the pool, washing, drinking and doing their business. There seemed plenty of sun beds available around the pool that our balcony overlooked, it was in the shade until the afternoon so I think people mainly went over the road to the other pool that was also located next to the bar. Unable to comment on the staff as we ate out most of the time due to the awful food and therefore only saw the reception staff at check in who seemed friendly enough at the time. We were severely disappointed with our stay. If it wasn’t for all of the great restaurants and bars along the waterfront that is only a short walk away, we would have checked out of our hotel a few days earlier and found an alternative place to stay.

I would have liked to have given one star. But!!! The only hotel I have seen in the district/village that is green around the pool. A real meadow! Rooms not very new, but you are only there to shower and sleep. Right? Pool very murky and dirty in the evening, but that's because of the people. Cleaning is done at night, water is clear in the morning. There is a lot of food at the buffet that is not available at times because people pack their plates too full. And leave it there! The food is replenished as soon as possible. The staff are extraordinary great! Everything is clean. OK, sometimes a dirty plate, by that amount. Animation was to our satisfaction. If I ever fly to this part of Mallorca again, I definitely won't choose another hotel! 5min to the beach by foot. Nice city with mostly touristic shops within 3min.
